Jean-Philippe arrived in the winter of 2007 from local jeu a quinze and quickly found himself in the Dragons squad for the 2008 season opener at Castleford. More than that, after Adam Mogg failed a late fitness test, he was thrown in at centre for an unexpected debut. That came after a pre-season where he'd excelled and caught the eye of then-coach Mick Potter. Chances throughout 2008 were few and far between as J-P ended the season with six appearances, but he did enough to earn a place in the French World Cup squad in the autumn and he didn't look out of place.
For 2009, he's had a boost up the order in terms of squad number, reflecting the impression he's made in a very short space of time. We expect he'll be carefully looked after this season as he did last, but at current rate and trajectory he'll be a first team regular before too much longer.
