Cyril arrived from Villeneuve Leopards at the back end of the 2007 season once his LER commitments were over and he got a few chances towards the end of the season, scoring in a derby which is normally a way to launch a career. 2008 was tough for him though, with plenty of competition in his favoured positions. He did score a memorable man-of-the-match award in the 24-10 over regular Gilbert Brutus bunnies St Helens. He also made his international debut in the mid-season Test against England, though his lack of opportunities foiled any chance of making the World Cup squad.
Since the end of the 2008 season, Cyril went back to UTC to get more game time under his belt, largely at full-back. The Dragons have been lucky in that the best full-back in the league - that'll be Clint - hasn't yet suffered any injury, which means that a lack of cover there hasn't been exposed. It may be that Cyril forges a future career as Clint's understudy. Either way, 2009 looks to be another year of waiting for a chance. He showed in glimpses that he may have what it takes in the future.
