Sébastien Raguin
Squad number: 11

Position: Second row/centre

Born: 14/02/1979, Toulouse, France

Height/weight: 1.88m/112kg

Sébastien shot to prominence in Toulouse's run to the Challenge Cup semi-final in 2005. A part-time player then, he combined rugby with his day job - patrolling the Tolosain streets dishing out parking tickets. In order to earn his full-time Dragons contract, he had to shed over 20kg of excess weight. He did, and it didn't adversely affect his on-field prowess. Rather, he looked much the better for it.

Raguin was the only player in the squad to play in all 31 games last season (29 super league and 2 challenge cup fixtures) and spent the majority of the season playing in the centres, a turn of events that would have been a bit of a shock to anyone who might only have previously seen him in his part-time days. However, he did not disappoint, and formed a productive partnership with Younes Khattabi on the wing that was to prove critical on more than one occasion. A seasoned French international, his story is both inspiring and an indication of how far French RL has come in a very short space of time.
